Thank you sir, I'll be sure to remember the lesson. Nah, seriously, you're right, I think I'm just to much of a fan of using gear the wrong way to see what it sounds like, and I went too far. Thanks for putting me back into the musical track..

| Where can I find out this stuff is? "You will need a scope and a 200Hz test tone" What type of scope will I need? Cause I think I have one just not sure and you said you made your test tone? Are they not cheap to buy? |

Because you are only looking at audio frequencies, any Oscilloscope, of around 20MHz will do, other than for a really old & cheap 15MHz one I saw years ago, I think 20MHz is about as low as most manufactures go these days.
The signal can be from some freeware tone generator software, if you don't have access to a signal/tone generator.
A lot of guys I know use the line out from their PC sound cards. & sometimes wire in a variable pot, to do some fine adjustments on the signal levels.
be careful using the speaker outs, a lot of cards can deliver about 3 Watts out on that port/socket.
Testing pedals you will only be using low level signals. from 10mV to perhaps a few hundred mV.
