Who was it that posted pics [quite awhile ago] with boss pedals stack really high outside?
I would imagine that if a few members here got together that they could have a larger pedalboard, it was only 142 pedels used. |

Why, wasn't it Bossarea himself? He had them stacked up, round in a circle in the grass, etc. as I remember. What a collection. |

if somebody collected all the boss pedals and their variations/versions and all the multifx boards, wouldn't you surpass that board? i think somebody here at BAF can surpass that alone with boss pedals only, not to mention with other brands. somebody should attempt to break that record now with 1.) boss products only and 2.) with other brands combined. c'mon guys, BAF pride is at stake!

If I had enough patch cables I think I could get close to that pedal board.
Wasn't there a news item a couple of years ago about someone setting up the longest chain of pedals ever? I think the requirement for getting the record approved was that all pedals had to be on and it had to be possible to recognice the "smoke on the water" riff when played through the chain. Can't remember how many pedals there was in that chain but I thought it was more than 142. |

Bossarea should try something like this.. I dunno, come up with an interesting choice of pedals just to see how they fair together in a long string. Not like 5 phasers in a row, maybe a few from each type.
I wonder how it would sound when 30 pedals with no loops are chained together with around 15 or so on at once? |

many moons ago, I strung together about a dozen pedals on my basement floor (complete with both delay pedals set to short and long delays, a flanger set to self-oscillate, and several different shades of dirt), and I thought that was crazy. but give those guys credit, those 142 pedals are very neatly organized. I wonder how many power supplies (and noise gates) were needed?
more recently I saw an article about pedalboards (in an issue of Guitar Player magazine), where they showed boards including vintage David Gilmour and current Andy Summers boards. and an older article about John Frusciante showed his massive board (probably only 2 dozen pedals, though). I bet their guitar techs are very well paid....

I know a guy who does Pink Floyd tribute shows, and he was quoted something like $10k to build a BASIC custom Cornish board. Even the few single Cornish fx he has were mega-pricey. G2/SS2 was $1200 on its own I think!
AND.. only Pete Cornish and his wife are supposed to service them!

I would love to see that pic of bossarea's collection.. any chance of posting the link again? |

The pictures are a couple of years old so none of the newer pedals are present. If it ever stops raining I might have to go out and get some new pictures. |
