Been testing it out for a couple of weeks. Has a great sound, but I find that I would like it "slow it" down. Anyone else think the pre-sets are "too fast"?
Is there a way to change the "speed" (mod or internal adjustment)? |

| Not that I know of, but I never bothered to open it up. Though IMO only preset 4 has a fast LFO. The others are pretty slow to my ears, though I usually run chorus pedals at near max speed. |

I wouldnt mod or alter a DC-2 as these are quite valuable and hard to find. I suggest buying a DC-3, it is more adjustable but not exactly the same sound. I love DC-2 the way it is and would never dream of altering it.

+1. I love the DC-2 just the way it is. Plus it would be crazy to mod a rare pedal like this one. |

Please, if you're set on doing that, re-house it and keep the original stompbox as it is, you'll regret it if you don't. |

Have you seen this link:
http://mypeoplepc.com/members/scottnoanh/birthofasynth/id9.html
It's a home project, building a DC-2 but with modifications to control all parameters. Check out id11.html and id12.html too.
I recently got a DC-2, but I think I'll leave it safely untouched, it cost me too much to mess around with. Achieving your ultimate sound is more important than the cost of course, but I wouldn't have the skills to fix it myself if I did any damage. Maybe if I found a cheap one I'd have a play with the trimpot. |

I was only kidding about drilling, just wanted to see the reaction :-)
Seriously, I was thinking about rehousing it. I will probably try to find a dead pedal and transplant the guts from the DC-2. Allthough I've been tweaking the caps and resistors for the LFO and I've been able to tame it down a bit.
I just need to be able to tweak the speed a bit more than the pre-sets allow. I like to use my chorus type effects in a subtle way.
I guess that's what they tried to do with the DC-3, but that turned out to be a totally different sound......Don't you think? |
