Finally have a PQ-4 on the way.

I am wondering where to put it. I have my board split with the overdrives and distortion going to the front of the amp, and my modulation effects going through the loop.

My loop runs as such

NS-2---CE-2---DD-6---Marshall Vibratrem--PH-3---BF-2---RV-3--back to the amp.

I am thinking I should put the PQ-4 before the CE-2, first in the loop chain? I want it to sculpt the sound of my amp.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks.

I found that running an EQ in the loop makes it much more powerfull instead of used in front.
Because the preamps signal is a lot stronger than your guitar signal, it can also boost things a lot more.

As always, experiment and nice find.

my PQ-4 is the first pedal in my chain, before my SD-1. however, if I added a compressor or (auto)wah, I would add the PQ-4 just after them.

but where you place a PQ-4 in your chain (or in your effects loop) really depends on how/why you use it. I typically use my PQ-4 when playing leads, as a slight boost and also to attenuate the trebles to get that warm Clapton-esque neck-single-coil pickup tone. it sounds like the effects loop is best for your purposes, Gizzorge.

ya i prefer EQ after distortion at all times. so if you use your amps distortion at all, you will probably have best results in the FX loop

In the loop is what I was thinking, but at the beginning or end of the loop? I am thinking at the beginning?
