Yep, it's hard to find and when you find it, it probably won't be cheap. But it's a very good pedal (WAY better than the PS-2) and very useful for bass. |

| Compared to the new Super shifter? If i cant find one,if i buy the super shifter will i be any close to the sound of the PS-3?I already have a delay pedal DD-3 so it wont be a problem if i wont have the delay sound.. |

Given the choice I would take the PS-3 just because of its expanded capabilities. That being said, the PS-2 is still a KILLER box. Under $ 100 ( US ), you would be hard pressed to find such excellent pitch shifting and delay that the PS-2 and PS-3 allow.
The PS-3 pictured is the replacement for my old one that " turned up missing " . They do come up on EBAY quite frequently. I got lucky on this one, $91.00. The picture is what I have jokingly called my " Poor Mans Eventide ".
I AM SEEKING A DOD FX-13 GONKULATOR and an ELECTRO HARMONIX FREQUENCY ANALYZER.
GO SPEED RACER GO !!!!

Hi Speed Racer Nice...
Ever hooked up a Shifter into a Shifter into a shifter into a shifter?
Serious though, a shifter up a 5th, and another one down a 4th in a stereo setup?
Or just a shifter into a shifter it would be an interesting experiment.
Regards Dr. Bob |

I can't comment how it would compare to the PS-5: never had one... But i did have a PS-2 and a PS-3 hooked up simultaneously and the PS-3 blew the PS-2 away. Because you're gonna use it with bass i recommend the PS-3 because of the extended options and the sound settings of the PS-3 which are better suited for bass: the PS-2 sounds somewhat rough and distorted at low frequencies. You can't play Pearl Jams "Jeremy" with this one.... |

| The PS-2 is crap. The delay is noisy and brittle, the upper octave sounds toyish and the lower octave is unstable and grungy. The only saving grace was setting it to manual, cranking the feedback and seeing what kind of 50s sci-fi movie sound effects you could make. I've never had a PS-3 but if you have a delay I'd be looking at the HR-2, simply because you can do what Dr Bob suggested, having two harmonies running simultaneously. You can't do that with the PS-5. |
