Finally got my soldering station & almost all the initial supplies one could hope to have. I would like to have a stockpile of GOOD WIRE on hand for pedal projects. Problem is, I don't know which gauge or grade to get. Should I go for "military grade" which I see used so often??? Are there other specifics I need to be aware of? HELP!!!

Local electronics store sells "alpha1550" wire that works well: - 24AWG - 7/32 - 0.016 inch PVC insulation - 1000V
And it is MIL spec kind of by defailt MIL-W-76B type MW
The key is to buy expensive wire - the cheap stuff will give you no end of trouble with the PVC (or crap plastic) sheath melting, and with the strands breaking. I think 100 ft of the wire above cost about $12
