I changed some settings around to try for a new sound, and i got something i like, but theres a cracking sound just behind it

it sounds like at any second it could all just fall over, and the 3rd string wont even do bends properly

My setup is Wah>CS-3>OC-2>DF-2>DS-1>MT-2>GE-7>CE-3

does anyone know how to get rid of the cracking?

Don't take this wrong, but I'm lost. What are you talking about?

You changes some settings: On the pedals, or did you move the pedals around? Did you change settings on the guitar because the "3rd string won't do bends properly?" Did you stack something up so high that it might fall over? Did you mean FAIL over?

and, are the pedals all on at the same time? if so it could be too much distortion.

what i mean is that theres a crackling sound right behind the sound i want
it sounds like its going to come through at any moment and rip apart my tone

I changed my whole setup around, trying to find something new. I like it a lot except for the cracking

I keep CS-3, DF-2, DS-1, MT-2, GE-7 on all the time. I try them out with only 1 or 2 distorions on a time, and it only adds positive distortion to it. It gives it a good boost. My MT-2 is broken, so i cant turn it off, so it could be that pedal that is messing up everthing else
I ordered a new one, so ill see in a couple of days.
I would still like to hear a solution if anyone has one though

I like to play extreamly saturated distortion, even added the super distortion humbucker to one of my guitars, and it sounds really deep
It could be too much distortion, but if theres anyway to keep this sound and just get rid of the cracking it would be perfect

do you think a NS-2 could effectivly clean it up (but still keep heavy distortion)?

if you have 3 distortions and a Dimarzio SD bucker, chances are its the distortion. the NS-2 will kill noise when youre not playing and sometimes helps when you have too much distortion in your signal. i recomend picking one up as the NS-2 is a good investment. especially if you are into styles that require loads of distortion. plus it powers up other pedals.

by the way, are you selling the problematic MT-2 by chance? i live in Canada and may be interested if so.

Im not sure what im going to do with it yet

I might try out some circutbends and see if i come up with anything, or add some new parts from a BYOC

If i can find a way to do it, i might put it in a wah casing and rock it for distortion or different tone

if i end up doing nothing with it ill either buy the new switch and fix it, or sell it broken

Why not start at the end and pull out each pedal one at a time to see what the prob is?Also you cant have everything"ON" all the time too much.If not get a old ART mac@ so you can program .Most Good players Do mot use all this crap to hide behind."yeh man I sound great"

this is a really old thread, but i have changed my board significantly since then, and its not a problem anymore.

but, bobtec, a good player to you could not be a good player to me. I like my guitar to have to much distortion and bass that you cant have anything on a table or it will vibrate off. You might see that as hiding behind effects , but I call it the perfect tone.

If you want to use 1 effect at a time, thats your choice, but effects (especially boss) are made to be on...
