Hey Fellow Boss Fanatics,
Do any of you use, or have you used the DF-2; If so, how do you like it?

| No, I don't have that one, but It sounds like it is pretty cool. I'm gonna have to check that one out, if I can still find it in stores which I doubt I will be able to. |

I like it. Somewhat trebly, quite hard distortion. The feedback feature is more like a novelty. Not really useful but fun to play around with. |

i find its really just a neat pedal to play around with. but when it comes time to make music, it has to be put aside. i dont find its distortion to be anything out of the ordinary. and the feedback feature is neat but gets old quick. which is funny because i remember wanting one so bad for so long, but now i kind of neglect it |

I just got mine under an hour ago and im very pleased with it
Im still playing around with the feedback part and found some places to add it for actual songs. That could change after a while with it, but the distortion on it is amazing. Ive wanted one as soon as i saw it, and after getting it it has lived up to what i thought it would be |

Thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it. I think the answer I was looking for is in your replies (I Love BOSSAREA ). I think I'm going to hold off on purchasing...unless of course I see one on ebay for a really good price you know how that is. The thing that intrigued me most about this pedal was the feedback feature. I've got the distortion/ overdrive covered with my Marshalls, DS-1, SD-1 & OS-2.

by whammy do you mean a whammy on your guitar or a whammy feature on a pedal? a whammy on your guitar wouldnt do anything unless you did it at exactly the right time and it "recorded" the whammied feedback. but it wouldnt give you a very good effect..
but if you put, say a PS-5 after the DF-2, you should be able to change pitch and so on to your liking.
ive never actually tried either one, but im pretty sure its correct. |

| I meant whammy on the guitar. Thanks for the reply. So the pedal records the note and feedsback that note, it doesn't do it in "real time"? |

yup. well i shouldnt have said "records." its more of a sample. when you press the switch, it takes about 1 second before it "samples" and then feeds back.
but like i said, heres what would happen if you used your guitar would whammy. in the split second it takes for the DF-2 to get a "sample," just say you depressed the whammy bar halfway down, it would feedback that pitch. it just depends on where you happen to be on the bend and when the pedal decides to sample. thats the easiest i can explain it know what i mean? |

does it sample for 0.3 seconds? (the time it takes to choose between a stomp or feedback)
is it possible to get some tremolo in that sample time? |

| No.. The feedbacksound is metallic and has nothing to do with the sampling.. It will also change your tone.. really useless if you ask me.. But there might be people who likes it.. Maybe I haven't figured out how it really should be used.. |
