I'm using a boss psa going into a 7 way daisy chain, which is going into a 3 way daisy chain making it power fro 9 pedals. What does everyone else use?
I want something which can power lots, are those one spot ones good? Do you have to buy spare daisy chains to extend it?

| Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2. Bulletproof solid. Works for ACA and PSA powered pedals. And non-Boss pedals. |

So I'm a little confused about the difference between the ACA and PSA requirements... I just use a generic 9V multi-out box (has half a dozen sockets that can total about 500mA) and things seem fine. I've read the ACA/PSA thread over in Tech faq, but there seems to be conflicting information...
Is it just that the ACA is unregulated and the PSA is regulated - but both, under load, will provide 9V? Which leads me to think the old ACA pedals just have a very simple regulator in them... am I horribly wrong? |

Why does every post you write contain a link to boyband.com? It looks a lot like you're posting just to advertise for the site. |

I use a Boss PSA to power the Wah,TU-12 and the rest of the boss stuff..my SD twin tube overdrive has it's own supply as it has mini valves that run on full plate voltages like an amp....i have a plugboard on the pedalboard so i don't have to unplug the adapters all the time,i shortened the cable on the plugboard with 3 pin connector i got in maplins so i can use a power lead off an amp etc .to power everything up,keeps setting up times down on gigs and reduces the wear and tear on the adapters, connectors etc....
hey ironhulk..nice to see new people on the forum but we normally post pics of our own gear from time to time as well not just links to other sites, there is plenty of threads to show off your guitars, amps and pedals if you want..get the camera out,i know i and others here are always interested in seeing what other people are using... ..... |

| I have been using the one spot adapter, got a great deal on it (15 bucks including the 5 plug daisy chain!) but I just got a boss psm-5 pedal and I am wondering how that will work, will a regular psa adapter work or do I need to get a bigger one, my electronics knowledge is limited but I know a small amount of mA will not power too many pedals |

| Im using a Diago power supply. They say it can power up to 30 pedals, and its only £55 which is considerably less than other alternatives. Here's their website if your interested www.diago.co.uk |

| I use a carl martin big john and a standard boss PSA adaptor. The big john is excellent and really small, but quite expensive. |

Heu OllieSG,
I use a 9V 1A regulated switchmode plug pack; being switchmode its super light and slim so it doesn't hog adjacent outlets in a power board. I got it for around $20 from Jaycar, a local electronics store here in Australia but I'm sure you can get something similar from your local eletronics chain.
That then goes into a 4 output daisy chain, one of those 4 outs goes into a 2nd 4 output daisy chain, then one of those outs goes to a 3rd 4 output daisy chain meaning I can power 10 pedals simultaneously if required.
The 1A output is more than enough to power 10 pedals; unless of course you were running 10 RV-2's at the same time, but I don't have 10 RV-2's so I think I'm safe.
I've also seen ones around rated at 1.7A or 2.0A if you need to power 20+ pedals... thats if you've got the required daisy chains of course. |
