Hey all!!! Has anyone thought of avatars? Ive seen a few forums where people get really inventive and it a damn good laugh. Just an idea to improve this already kick arse site. Cheers Sorry if this has already been discussed here, but im new here so forgive me
I think there is a thread about it somewhere but it's a really old one...
There is an avatar forum mod available and installing it is in my long term plans. Adding updates to the forum is however a bit complicated as all code must be copied in manually. When there's already a few mods in place the instructions doesn't fit perfectly anymore so special care must be taken when installing them.
It may happen during 2007 but I can't promise anything just yet
Just gotta say that i havent been here long and you should take a step back from all the work you've put in and enjoy all the praise you've been given. The avatar mod is in place but it's virtually untested so you will have to experiment and report back to me if something doesn't work.
Go to your profile page to upload an avatar. The avatar can be up to 96 x 96 pixels and must be saved as .jpg or .avi. You can upload the avatar as a personal avatar that only you can use or you can press "upload to the all category" to upload a public avatar that everyone can use.
You already know the rules: No pornographic, religious, political or otherwise illegal avatars please.
Signatures are a built-in forum feature but they're turned off at the moment.
People often add some sort of intelligent quote as their signature and it's impossible to see that it's not part of the post. I usually sit there wondering what the hell did that guy write that for? It has nothing to do with his post. If the signatures was somehow in a different coloured background or something to seperate them from the actual post, I would have turned them on.
