I thought these things went out with Jan Hammer, pink suits and Miami Vice.........who said the 80's is dead...expect the CE-2 to start going up in price and pointy guitars to become 'vintage'............
elaborate please...? does the sight of keyboard players dancing around like monkeys not meet with your approval.... a recent documentary on the BBC said prog rock is still big in certain parts of Canada..if this isn't a tool of the proggers what is.......

I am an old techno programmer - used to be in an acid house band in the late 80's. Never could get past thinking these thngs are toys
I saw Donald Fagan back in the 90's with Steely Dan using one at the very start of the gig to walk out on the stage after the band had kicked off with 'do it again' looked great, but i don't remember him getting up from behind his Fender Rhodes for much else during the gig... i think your right these things are toys......
KeyTars are nifty enough.. the AX-7 did indeed feel a little plasticky for my taste - not tough enough for real heavy gigging.
Pogo (Madonna Wayne Gacy) from Marilyn Manson used a Keytar to great effect. Now they just have retro vibe. This new one seems pretty intuitively designed, but the sounds coming out of it are a little chzmo for my liking.
