You learn something new every day, always good to read about something new . That is one ugly pedal though 26 years old though so I guess it has its excuses!
I wouldnt mind a square wave synth in a compact pedal... Even if its monophonic as long as it sounds cool [: |

Oh, i really apreciate the info Dr. bob! it's cool to learn something new, well thats the main reason for my presence here, learn about boss pedals! thanks for the info! it would be really nice to try one of those in person, but here in my country is really dificult... and with the new economical problems i have to pay like 3 times the normal price for every pedal. |

Welcome to the forum from Australia.
Boss did make an analog Wah, many years ago. it's called the PW-1 Rocker Wah It uses a hall effect magnetic sensor in place of the more standard pot, and will last till the magnet drops off, & never gets scratchy.
I was fortunate enough to pick one up a few years back. it's very long compared to a Crybaby & the current PW-10.
Mine even had the black vinyl protective carry case. Apologies if you feel I'm boasting I was really trying to give you as much info as I know about it.
You can find info on it in the Bossarea Product Reference section of the main board. http://www.bossarea.com/
PW-1 Rocker Wah http://www.bossarea.com/other/pw1.asp
There are other pedals in the series as well. PD-1 Rocker Distortion I belive member ChristoMephisto has one of these.
And the PV-1 Rocker Volume All the Rocker series use the magnetic Hall effect sensor in place of the Pot.
I hope this helps.
Regards Dr. Bob
PS - they don't use a standard 9V battery. They use two C-Size cells running into a DC to DC converter that steps the 1.5V+1.5V = 3V up to about 10V internally.
Becase of their size & current capacity, the C-Cells last nearly forever. In fact they last so long, that you have to remember to take them out when not in use, in case they leak.
When I opened the one I bought. The batteries (date Code) in my PW-1 were nearly 10 years old & just still able to operate the pedal.
Another unknown fact about the Rocker series, that is never talked about. Is that they all have Silver screws.... I can hear the rest of the members here going ----- Hmmm???
Regards again Dr. Bob
Very cool post. Thanks. That is one fugly pedal though. It better sound good to make up for it's looks. |

Never actually thought about it that way, but I guess you are right.
But you have to remember it's a "Silver Screw Fugly pedal". And it's very long & wide The word/s "Aircraft Carrier" were more the way I thought of it.
I suppose we also have to remember, that they probably had a smaller than normal production run on the Rocker series. And that's why they are not well known.
I wonder if Bossarea Admin has any data-build quantities or serial numbers on these?
Regards Dr. Bob |

Hi strat714 There was a mockup of a "Talent Simulator" back in one of our older posts. http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3985&whichpage=1
There are at least 4 pages of other mockups as well, to have a look at, if you missed the thread.
Sadly it's not real (Not Yet Anyway) but it has some great features like: Astounding Licks - Level - Genuine Modesty.
I'm not sure if the Level control was for volume, or Talent Level. It also has a really Rare 5mm RED LED
The TB-4 Tallent Booster is directly under it. And features contols for: Talent Level - Yuck - Cover Up - Suck.
It will look perfect next to any DD-2-3-5-6-7 And it to sports the really Rare 3mm RED LED As well as the rare Black screw.
It's always nice to dig up these older threads/posts, I'm sure our newer members have not seen them.
Regards Dr. Bob |

I read that thread once before and had forgotten it. Thanks for bringing it back up. It is too funny to forget. |
