Hi redundant
Very cool, I like it...
What app/s are you using for all the video editing & montage's? And Nice Tele.
Regards Dr. Bob.

Once again, thanx Dr. Bob
I'm using Vegas 7.0 by Sony (cracked, of course)
Was lucky getting the video up this afternoon: Youtube is blocked again. It's like some bureaucrat in Ankara keeps flipping the switch. |

Hi redundant & The Blairs
You are welcome.
Tell us bit about your Telecaster, & what you had it running into.
I took a snapshot of your video (Flash), so I could watch it again later, when I'm not so tired.
That must have been a very large file on your Hard disk, with all the Montage work, & psychedelic effects? I know when we do the Company end of year comedy videos, we chew up heaps of HD space.
Did you drop the frame rate for when I see you doing the vocals? It was a cool effect.
Regards Dr. Bob |

The audio was recorded at home using the SansAmp PSA-1 (guitar w/ JMP-1 setting, bass w/ Bassman setting) & my collection of drum samples sequenced in Acid. This means, of course, that the video has to be synchronized, which is nasty work, but I'm alright with it.
Istanbul has lots of practice studios, pay by the hour, so we use what gear they provide. I've been getting good results with the Ibanez stack you can see in the vid (sorry, no idea about the mark - don't pay much attention to amps, just as long as they are not digital). By coincidence, when we walked in that day, someone had put the Fender amp atop the Ibanez, so I left it there - looks impressive, don't it?
Tele is a Japanese Fender w/ Texas Specials, with the plate switched around, so from left to right is tone, volume, pickup selector, to avoid pickup changes & sudden volume drops due to aggressive playing.
On the floor: HR-2 Harmonist, SansAmp GT-2, CH-1 Chorus, DM-3 Delay.
Typically, the combined video files for one of my videos are about 1gb. When transfering to the computer, the video is a standard 352 x 240 mpeg - no point in saving a better resolution for what will only be seen on the Internet.
One the psychedelic effects was pretty easy, if time consuming. I took a series of screen captures of my wife/bassist, brought them over to MS Paint, coloured the background blue, brought them back to Vegas & used the blue screen filter, & then placed some animated gifs behind her.
Some of the other effects, especially what appears to be me playing with the frame rate, were instead just my computer screwing with me.

Nice one bro'...... i like it...i see you still have the same drummer from the other videos....one small thing,i thought the bass could be a little bit louder in the mix especially in the middle bit around 2.35 where Mrs R does a little run for a few bars...... otherwise it's all good..i wish i had your skill for the imagery to go with the music..... |

Pretty cool man.
Unfortunately, youtube has borked the A/V sync, so all your hard work syncing it up has, for the most part, gone to hell :(

Hey redundant
I thought I would let you know.
I have been re-watching/playing your New Song/Clip I have to say, it gets better the more you listen to it. I played it for a few muso friends of mine, & they liked a lot as well. This is a really great rock song with an edgy rawness to it. Easy to sing along with & even easier to remember the words.
I have keyboard marks-dints in my forehead, from banging my head in time, to the beat...
You will have to tell me the chords, so I can Jam along with you. It gives me a reason to play my 52RI Telecaster.
What if any effects did you use? A bit of overdrive, or mild distortion?
By the way, I just notice, you call it "The alternative version" Was there other versions?
Regards again Dr. Bob |

Verse: Bm D x 6 G F# x 2 Chorus: E Bm D x 4 Bridge (note the Truck Driver's Gear Change http://www.gearchange.org/index.asp): F# C# E x 3 D C#
This is an unusual song in that there have been four different versions over the past 7-8 years. 1. First demo - more of a War - Low Rider groove 2. With my previous band, my bassist could play a little more funkier, so it ended up with a RHCP feel. Version 2a was in Turkish, though never recorded. In v. 1 & 2 the verse was more of a rap (After the break-up of that band, the song lay dormant for over 2 years until this summer produced...) 3. The dance version: Good friend of mine had requested the song, so I reworked it & got this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMv_sQXEZtw. At the time I told my wife that this would never be played live until... 4. I have loved that snare, snare, snare kick, snare kick pattern for years, & was just screwing around with it & that's where we are today.
A bit of overdrive never hurt anyone |

What a SHED-LOAD of hard work has gone into this! Very, very impressive.
Very. Nice.
Oh hell... also just found your Dr. Who theme. Fan-tastic!
====== On an unrelated topic... as an Australian ex-pat living in Canada, I've wondered for a while what circumstances conspired to get a Canadian ex-pat to live in Turkey?
