I've bought Revolver, Sgt. Peppers and Abbey Road remasters. Only just started listening to the Beatles about a week ago.

They sound really good but I can't compare them to previous releases or vinyls as I've never heard them.

I wouldn't say Im a big fan now. I bought CDs to see what they're like but I honestly don't see why everyone loves them so much.

They have got some good songs, but as for Sgt. Peppers, that was probably the biggest let down ever. I was expecting something great but I found it quite disappointing.

They have some great songs, but when I think of the 'Beatles' I also think of: 'Hey Jude', 'Yellow Submarine', 'Yesterday' 'I'm the Walrus' etc.

I think people hype it up too much. I was hoping for something at least on par with "Dark Side..." It's not a terrible album and I could listen to it from start to end but I'd only enjoy about 50% songs.

Maybe after listening to it more I'll become a bigger fan.

I'm the same way with Sgt. Pepper....just not a big fan of it. Not even close to one of my favorite Beatle albums(which BTW is Rubber Soul). Every time I hear the title track I wanna hurl.
"Sgt. Pepper's lonely
Sgt. Pepper's lonely
Sgt. Pepper's lone"

Nah...

By that period, and later albums, they were just so hit and miss to me. Mind you, there are some classic tracks on the White Album and Abbey Road, but overall the albums are just too haphazard for my taste...too disjointed...probably because they were all going in such different directions. Even Lennon himself said by the time they were recording their later albums they were no longer theoretically a band, just solo artists with the others working as session players.

But that's drifting slightly off the topic. To get back on, I'll just say that I have no intention of buying the new masters because I have the old ones, and McCartney already has enough money as it is.
