i'm in the midst of re-arranging my apartment after the upstairs neighbor flooded me out for a week and i have lost a bit of wall space in the process.
i was looking at picking up some of those tree-style guitar stands (i have 12 instruments that need storing) to replace my rockstands. i have very limited space and i was curious if anyone has had experiences with tree-style stands that were positive or negative as well as any recommended brands for these as i know there are a few out there.
i don't really have any parties or gatherings anymore so incidental tips probably won't be a problem... but random tipping due to poor construction would be a problem
thanks in advance. |

| Why not use wallmount hangers? That saves a lot of room. |

I have used one of these: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Hercules-Stands-GS432B-Tri-Stand-Guitar-Stand?sku=453084 At the weekly jam session I go to, there is one there, and it seems to be very sturdy and well balanced, though personally I think a bit overpriced. I think the 3-5-7 guitar holding Warwick Rockstands offer the most amount of guitar standing in the least amount of space. I went from 7 single guitar stands to one of the 5 guitar Warwick stands and just 2 single guitar stands and have noticeably more floor space where all the guitar stands used to be. |

thanks for the input.
i have the rockstand 7 and 3 versions. unfortunately, those require significant wall space whereas i only have open wall space in ~2-2.5' increments.
i've seen the hercules stands and i like em, but yah, they are expensive and unfortunately, unless they hold 6 i'm not going to be saving any space vs. what i already have although i do appreciate their added security.
after doing significant digging i found quik lok used to make an 8 stand tree but discontinued it.
these are the ones i've found in production and supposedly mirage makes one too: Stagg SG-A600BK Adam AGS600 Adam AGS660 Stageline GSD6E Ultra 2616BK
the AGS600 seems to probably be the sturdiest... has a double-braced drum/cymbal stand tripod base. |
