Has anyone successfully replaced a broken latch on a BCB-60 (or -6 or -3, etc)? I just bought a used -60 with a busted latch. I could cannibalize my old -6 for a latch if I could figure out how to take it off/put it on without brute force. Thanks!

you may need to take it to a luggage repair shop.

for only a few $ they have all the latches and tools in the world needed to fix, change, or retrofit better latches for luggage so you may be able to find a better set than what boss put on at the factory. (and maybe get a metal one while you are at it)

the factory design of the bcb6 and bcb3 latches is poor (ever load a bunch of guitars and bcb cases into the back trunk of a car ("click rattle rattle" - what's that sound?, oh, that's just a bcb 6 latch bouncing under the car), I don't know about the 60 though. They're just too fragile for the job and should have been make out of metal.

just a thought and good luck.

PS they may even be able to install LOCKING clasps too! (A loaded bcb60 could conceivable hold $1000.00 of pedals!!!!

on my very first gig using a BCB-3 loaded with bass fx pedals, I (or the sound man) tripped over one of the bcb-3's latches, 'breaking' it right off. the good news was that nothing was truly brokern -- the pieces just snapped right back on. but from a design standpoint, why not make the latches part of the detachable cover instead of the base?

anyway, I can't comment on the bcb-60, but it's definitely worth getting replaced/repaired. one of my friends has a Jazz Bass, but the handle broke off the case. try carrying a loaded J-Bass case by anywhere but the handle, and you can see how old that gets, and quickly.
