Looking for a pair of larger knobs for an "older" style Boss pedal -- but need all-plastic ones that push onto knurled/split potentiometer shafts rather than the brass insert, set screw type for solid shafts.
These are the larger diameter black plastic with the brushed aluminum trim ones (i.e. CE-2, OD-1, etc.).

Yes, I've been looking there from time to time...
The first link you posted is for the set screw type knobs -- note the brass insert that's intended to be mounted on a potentiometer with a "solid" (smooth surface) shaft... the one (actually, I need two) I'm after will have not metal insert, and will push down into a knurled/split control shaft and be held by friction as opposed to the tightening of a set screw.
I think that one time I did see an auction for the type of knobs I'm after, but it ended before I had a chance to bid.

I should probably ask him if those are for the knurled/split or solid control shafts.
You'd think that they wouldn't be too difficult to find, given that they were used for production units.
I have a CS-2 where the two larger knobs are missing the brushed caps on top -- I initially bought it thinking, "no problem, I'll just get a new set of knobs for it"... this was actually the first time I had ever seen a "old" style Boss pedal without set-screw knobs.
Alternatively, I could replace the controls. There's a parts store nearby that has drop-in replacements in stock -- don't even have to cut the shaft to the right length; they're the exact correct length. Just have to match the resistance and taper.

| Roland sell replacement knobs, but not the ones with a screw. I ordered some a year ago and paid about $1 each. |

If they had a means to order parts online in the U.S. I'd probably go that route -- it would certainly beat having to deal with the apathetic individual on the other end of the line that I've invariably gotten every time I've ever called them directly, and the 6-8 weeks delivery time.

| Roland Scandinavia has extremely good service, very, very helpful. I e-mailed them last week and asked if they had a manual for PS-5. They had and a couple of days later it was in my mailbox (the analogue one.), I didnt have to pay anything for it. Things like this has happened before with Roland Scand. Actually the woman I have the most contact with is married to a guitarist, so she knows how holy Boss-pedals are |

Just a follow-up here -- I got the knobs in a few days, and they fit perfectly. Seller wasn't the easiest one I ever communicated with, but they followed through. So if you're in need of this style of knob and are looking for an alternative to getting them throgh Roland, might want to give this seller a shout.
