I seen one of these Ibanez TK999HT Tube Kings at the music store today, and wondered if anyone here has any knowledge of it. The price seems right as they are going for $150 on the net.

never tried one of the newer Tube King pedals... the old ones where amazing (although again I only tried the Japan version - the US version hasn't been available over here)

I do think the new ones look shite and plastic-y

Be careful when going for tube driven overdrives as some of them don't use the valve in a proper tube driven circuit...i remember some talk of this with the tube king when they first came out...thare a good few different makes on the market now ..i love my twin tube....but i'm still thinking/G.A.Ssin' for a blackstar distortion for dedicated rthymn...really cool specs on this stuff with a full EQ section and their ISP control to go either U.S or ' british' in the sound......only thing putting me off at the moment is i would have to build/buy a new 'board to fit all this stuff on.........

Hi Franzoni.

According to the specs on the link.
The TK999HT is a,
Genuine high voltage tube distortion pedal.
Not running in Starved Plate mode.
The earlier Tube King was the non-high voltage one.

Anyway you can read the specs on the link.

Regards Dr. Bob

Doh...!!...i should of clicked on the link or guessed with the HT at the end of the name.......it looks totally different to the original one as well,i sort of agree with mully that it doesn't look as nice aesthetically as the original but if it sounds good........... and $149 is not bad for a real tube dist/drive pedal........

Hi pedals 4 pv & Guys

Anyone here have any internal pics of this pedal?
I would like to see if they are driving the first stage from an op-amp/buffer, or if they are going directly into the tube.

Regards Dr. Bob
