This page might be just as much at home in the schematics thread but the schematics here are not the originals and made for cloning the old pedals.

| According to the DD-3 Keeley mod page the caps should be non polarized? Does this matter? Will I get a steeper filter, more high cut, with something else than my electrolytes? |

Melanheads (melanhead) DS-1 mod.
I thought we should have the Melanhead DS-1 mod on these sticky pages.
Main link on: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=32443.0
And a kind thank you to Aron Neson's www.diystompboxes.com --- forum pages.
Other info on the forum. http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2769

Cool! ... Thanks for the sticky. I never thought this mod would get so popular, but I keep seeing it pop up all over the internet. I still do it on a regular basis for local guys, and not one complaint! ... some day I'll put up a website with the rest of my mods ... that is when I learn how to do that!
If I remember correctly, this was the first mod I'd ever done. Basically a modded version of an older Keeley Ultra. The rest was right out of Brian Wampler's book .... I just tweaked it until it sounded right to me ... I guess it sounds right to others as well!
Enjoy!

Hi melanhead (Bob)
A big hearty welcome to the forum from Australia.
Any Chance you might post up your actual parts list for the DS-1 Melanhead Mod. There seems to be some differences, in the postings I have seen.
Great demo files by the way, If you have any other demos, I would appreciate it, if you would post some links.
Thanks in advance.
Regards Dr. Bob |

Found out this one is another easy conversion from a SD-1 to a MXR ZW44 schem is here http://analogguru.an.ohost.de/
C4 .047 C5 .047 R3 22k C6 .01 C7 3.3uf D4 120p parallel to diode optional Q1 MPS-A14
this part removes the output buffer remove Q6,R15 to R17,C10 lift the white wire from 12 and solder it to the top hole of where Q5 was
remove R5 and jumper it,lift the yellow wire from 4 and take the same resistor (or a new 33k) and solder it in series of the yellow wire back to the #4 pad
the schem also shows a 2M2 at R2, try the Laurie/Zentropia mod with a 1M and the two 10k
