The DOD filter isn't quite a normal wah sound, it reaches down into sub frequences and creates an alien sounding wah. But there have been many different versions over the years so maybe the one I tried is a little different. I you want an auto-wah for a cheap price just look for a used AW-3, it has a lot of different functions and is still good sounding.
I have had good luck with the Dunlop JH-1 (Jimi Hendrix Model). It is similar to the standard Crybaby, but I have read it has a more open or fatter sound. But, I just picked up a used Dunlop Dimebag wah today. I have heard good things about it and thought it was time to try someting else for a while.
