G'day! I just bought a dead current (digital) DD-3 and the jack wiring has been "redone" by the previous owner. It doesn't look right to me...
Can someone post or send me pics of the wires on all three jacks? I need to see what colour wire goes to what lug on each jack. Also, photos of the component side of the board so i can see where the board ends of the wires are? (not as critical)

Feeling pretty pleased with myself... tracked the signal through the pedal with the scope and found that it stopped at IC1 (a 4558 opamp - used as a buffer). Cut the failed SMD opamp off the board and replaced it with a non-SMD version... tricky, but buying a single SMD component is almost impossible. Anyway, pedal is up and running again!

| Thanks guys! Yeah, it looks strange, but it works 100% and the DIL chip doesn't foul anything so there is no mechanical stress on it. I think it will be OK long-term. |

Can I suggest a small dob/blob of hot melt glue or a bit non-acidic silicon. On & slightly under the DIP to stop any damage from Mechanical vibration.

Yeah... thought about using some hot-melt glue, but its actually rock solid. You cant easily see it in the pics, but the ends of the legs are bent into little feet about 0.5mm to 1mm long so there is a lot of bond area onto the pads. And it doesn't foul against anything - not even a wire hits it.
I think it will be OK, at least until I can find a SMD version to replace it with... (famous last words)

I bet you keep it like that forever, cause you like the added mojo of an old school OPamp so much, you'll in fact never turn the pedal off again and use it permanently in your setup  |

Last pic for this thread. Final repair to this pedal - replaced the "kludge" earlier repair with an SMD 4558.
