My CH-1 Super Chorus has quit producing the effect, I still get a signal through it, but no effect. At first when it was on I had the effect but it had bad static, only when the guitar was played. The bypass and when the unit was off sounded fine ( no noise or static. But now there is a very slight hum and no effect. Can not see any lose or bad connections Any ideas on what I should look for.
I have work on telephone cables, and know how to use volt ohm meters, but I have no idea how to trouble shoot electrical components.

Staticky usually means dirty connectors, but can also mean dead capacitor.

Bypass being Ok when the unit is off is a bit worrysome - means it might not be the connectors. Might be something like an op-amp.

I'd try the connector first. Sometimes the connector actually disintegrates... So maybe unscrew the jacks and see if they are intact. If they are, spray the contacts with some good quality contact cleaner (from the electronics store). And we'll take it from there...

And the usual dumb question - it's being powered by a known good battery or adapter, yes?

Thank,
Powered with new battery & Boss power supply. check connectors, no luck.

I just did a mod to my CS-3 & TR-2, which replaced one op-amp in each unit, I also got 3 extra Burr Brown OPA2134PA and strait pin adapters.
I'm not planning to put them in this pedal, but I will have 5 used strait pin old op-amp chips when I'm done and I know I have at least 1 dual dual op-anp chip.

After I finish modding the other petals, I can try changing out the op-amp one at a time.

Be worth probing a bit first...

Is there signal at terminal 15 on the board? Terminal 13? Across R34?

No signal from terms 15 or 13 across R34, I tried with the unit effect turned on and off ( effect turned off still powered by PSA power supply )
I also tried both sides of the resistor ( R34 )

Cool, I got to use the signal detector I made ( which I tested and is working fine )

Can't seem to get a download of the schematic here at work. Will take another look when I get home and we can keep probing...

To confirm - from one side of C6 to ground there is signal, but not the other side of C6 to ground?

Which side doesn't have the signal?
