PaulH@ yeah Levy, but it has two problem:
1. too short;
2. the internal part isn't so slippery and during the playin' results annoyance.
Franzoni@ my baby! It's a 1994 Les Paul, the same year of the 100th of Gibson. |

Yes the guitar, the pedals, the ampli, the sound, cables... anything needs to obtain a good result, but also a good strap: confortable, sadomaso, glam, short, long... tell your strap(s).
This is a part of mine straps:

1. Fender, my first serious strap bought both with my first electric guitar (1980) and customized with the "fashion" of that time.
2. Unknown, a gift of the shop saler when I've bought the Ibanez Destroyer.
3. Selfmade in the metal period and re-worked to add the Di Marzio secure-lock.
4. Silver Eagle, bought during my militance in a glam-metal group, not bad but too much flexible.
5. Another gift of the shopsaler used to play with all my Yamaha acoustics.
6. Exclusively for the JEM77FP! Same green as the flowers in the body.
7. I own twice of these Di Marzio silver strap one for the Strato and one for the Les Paul.
8. Simple black Di Marzio to be used in my Cort Steinberger replica.
9. The stars reminded me to a group with a character with a star painted in one eyes, but I don't remember now the name...
10. Same as above but the character has two silver lightining instead of star. Used on Ibanez Destroyer.
11. Unknown, used on Yamaha Travel.
12. My friends call it "Pope's strap", but I like it too much. The secure lock suggests that I still use it (on the Strato).
13. Another gift when I've bought Les Paul, I've leave in a drawer for years, thne, when I've came back to secure lock, I've searched and now is used on my Les Paul.
Gosh you have quite a few of them.
I think I have five. Really like the large lether ones, have a brown one, a lighter brown and a black one. Leather is not great when you fold it, and I fold my straps often with the result that a few of them have cracks across the with of the strap.
The Fender straps do not mind being folded, so there are good for rough and all day use.
I have removed all the straplocks, and am using rubber rings from Grosh beer bottles. This method makes it easier for similar straps on different guitars.
And yes, black goes with anything you are wearing or the finish of the guitar you are using., so I also prefer one-tone coloured straps. |

I've understood... could be a cheap way in place of very expensive secure lock ( 15,00/20,00) although I'm scared thinkin' that a 4000,00 Les Paul could be in danger to fall down.
I've will try it. |

It may be a cheap way, but it works and best of all, you can use one type of strap on all your guitars.
I am a player and working musician who uses quality guitars, and also do not like them coming loose of their strap, but the Grosh grommets do work, happy with this practical solution.
Talking about your Les Paul, do you gig with that guitar? I like to gig with anything I have regardless of its costs. At the end of the day I see my instruments and pedals as tools and they should be used at all times regardless of their vintage status and costs. Just my own personal view and I know some of you will have a different take on this matter, and I do respect that as we are all very different.
Cheers!! |

At the moment I don't use guitars 'cause I'm busy as singer, but usually I gig with this guitar and also the others too, but I pay attention to avoid any damage of it: I work my money cent by cent and a Les Paul of that kind it values too much.
Anyway I would to separate a scratch from a crash: the first one it's part of the life of a guitar like a wrinkle for an human being, the second one I would prefer to avoid it.
Between the other I loan my guitars (Strato and acoustic) to the guitarists of my company as second guitars withouth problem or jealousy. |
