Has anyone sent anything to Roland for repair? Just wondering if that is the best option.

I had an outstanding experience with their service.
I had bought a VF-1 and attempted (that's the key word here: attempted) to upgrade the firmware. The upgrade didn't work and I was left with a brick... I called Roland, got a return authorization, and sent the unit back to be repaired. They reloaded the flash ROM and had the unit back in my hands in just over a week. And they didn't charge me for bench time or return shipping.
