I've heard about the game but I'm not sure what it's about. How about a quick introduction for the old farts here (me) |

I have only played a computer game once in my life, and thats true! That was in 1994, I remember as it was the same year I met my wife. I hate all forms of games, excluding backgammon and maybe chess. But Guitar hero could be something, so please explain

Well they give you a guitar that has 5 buttons on it that are like the frets, and a toggle thing that works like you fingerpicking the string.
One the screen, the notes pass by, and you have to strum the notes at the right time as they pass on the screen. You're playing the guitar of a song, so if you dont play it right, the song doesnt sound right. They have some really good songs on there, freebird, war pigs, sweet child o mine, etc. You can do multiplayer too, 1 person plays guitar, the other bass, or both guitar. its a lot of fun. someone told me they are coming out with rock band, where they will add drums, so it will be exactly like playing an electric drum set, and a vocals (you have to match the pitch right as you sing).
I traded my extra OC-2 for the ps2, and bought the guitar and game for $90 from the store. |

i was pretty addicted to this game for a while, but beware, you CAN get sick of it. i ALMOST beat the game on Expert but could only get 95% through Ozzy's Bark At The Moon (which is acclaimed as the hardest song in the game). in my opinion, GH1 has better songs than GH2 but i looked at ahead at GH3 (coming out late October i think) and it appears to have the best track list of all.
keep in mind that it really doesnt have a lot to do with having real guitar skill. ive seen my shredder friends suck at this game and vice versa. but nonetheless, i cant even explain how addictive and fun this game is. its one of those games where you will look at your watch and find out its 4am when you just wanted to do 1 song.
by the way, i still cringe at playing SRV's "texas flood" through a Gibson. dream on. |

yup all you have to do jam over backing tracks (with a real guitar ) is go to 2 player faceoff mode. in 1 player mode you cant because you will get boo'ed off the stage since you wouldnt be playing the guitar hero guitar and your score would drop.
yes, you can get boo'ed off the stage in Guitar hero if you suck too bad |

| ohhhhh i know that feeling all too well. when you finally decide to pack it in for the night after 6 hours straight. close your eyes, and all you can see is the sight of colored scrolling mines on a fretboard. it gets implanted into your brain and haunts your thoughts!!. |

| I played it for about two hours in PC world before they asked me politely if I wanted anything, it's addictive and a lot of fun, I'm thinking of picking it up and a spare guitar for when I go to University. |
