Oh, and I must not forget that next week I'm expecting a new baby. My first silver screw.
Communication with the seller was a bit weird so I hope everything will be OK. This is the only photo he gave me...

I hope the seller made clear if it was a silver screw model or not, this picture is probably taken from internet, the exact same pedal (with small blister on the right, near 'dist.') can be found if you search the internet.

let us know when you receive it!

Thats exactly what worries me, but I tried to search the internet for the picture before contacting him and found nothing, even when searching for pictures with the exact resolution. Are you sure that the picture you found isn't the picture I put on imageshack for the previous post? The guy swore it's the pedal on the photo and I couldn't find the photo on the internet so I kinda believed him, plus he's selling it sort of cheap... hope I didn't make a big mistake. Sometimes I'm just stupid in such situations.

Hi Miky,

Welcome to the forum from Hungary!
I really hope too that it will be a real SS pedal.
Do you know perhaps the serial number? It can be a definate evidence.
I can see on the picture it has long dash, so hopefully it is what it is looking like.
Please keep us updated about any GOOD news !

Congrats by the way!

cheers

Miky, don't judge it too early. I thought the same as you when I purchased a mint DS-2 with box VERY CHEAP, so cheap that I even doubted it was MIJ, and shared my worries with our fellas here at bossarea. Nothing to worry about, everything was right and now I'm a proud owner of a 1987 DS-2 never used before. Let's give the seller the benefit of the doubt and see what happens.

I've found the picture of the exact pedal on at least 15 sites, the most smaller than the one you placed here, the next picture comes close sizeways and has the exact marks as the one you placed, look at the blister on the right, the blister above the tone knob, the black spot under the LED, the position of the screw and the lining of the rubber.
Hell, even the DS-1 picture on the boss-area home page is a down-sized picture from the exact same pedal!

Thank you Mesjoggah for opening my eyes. Don't know if my image search in google is somehow set to prefer Czech pages or something but I really couldn't find it. So thank you! That explains a lot.
Now somebody here is really stupid and it's either me or the seller. Either way I'm writing him once more to clear it out.
Most probably you saved me some money.

Hi Miky

You might ask him to take a pic of it, sitting on a local newspaper,
or his drivers license.
Or even simpler to take a pic of the serial number, or tell you the serial number, you can then check our decoder.

Don't be too harsh on the seller, it might still be a SS Silver Screw
long dash DS-1.
Or even an early series black screw MIJ.

Franzoni once drove for many kilometers & hours to buy a CE-2, & it turned out to be an MIJ black label, & the seller thew in another Boss pedals as well.
I think the other pedal was a HM-2?

Regards Dr. Bob

Yeah, I would wait for it to see and check if it's really a SS MIJ DS-1. He maybe took the pic from the net, but that doesn't mean his pedal isn't a SS MIJ DS-1 as well.

I can't stand people being dishonest in ebay, and if he told you it was an actual pic of the pedal the he lied. But apart from that no harm has been done yet.

Hi Dr Bob,Miky and all

yep the above story is true...i drove 2 hour round trip for a CE-2 thinking that for €115 it had to be MIT as the MIJ ones were over €250 at the time..when i got there and turned it over to look at the label i nearly dropped it when i saw the black label and the MIJ on the bottom..and he threw in a early MIT HM-2 and a Behringer blues overdrive to sweeten the deal.....so keep the faith bro'.... i also found a MIJ DS-1 in our singers shed many years ago sitting on a shelf gathering dust from his time as a wanabe guitar player in another band....we were just starting up and it was our first rehearsal space,he told me i just missed on the vintage 70's Marshall 4 X 12 he had given away to a mate a couple of years before to make room for his work gear........like i said keep the faith....

My most recent scores are a almost new SD-1 Super Over Drive at a pawnshop for 20 bucks without a box or a manual. The guy had it marked for 35, but when I asked about the aforementioned B&M, he slashed it down to 20 without hesitating.

I picked up an excellent condition green label MIJ BF-2 Flanger a couple of days ago at a different pawnshop for 39 bucks out the door.

I've been on a pedal buying binge lately, so I'm sure that there are more to come. I'm hoping to have at least one of every type of effect by the end of the year.

Hello everybody,
thank you for the support and advice. Today we finally managed clear out what the seller was really selling. It took me a lot of time to figure out that the seller is a woman. Of course I stayed kind and nice all the time and still she didn't feel like telling me anything about the pedal (didn't have a camera, then it was broken...) until today when she sent me the serial number. And of course... women... it said BOSS...
2006 MIT
So all my expectations are gone now. But hey, at least I didn't pay for an overpriced MIT so thanks everybody who said NO!

Glad you got to the bottom of the problem and saved yourself some heartbreak and money..... i think you would pick up a MIJ DS-1 if you look hard enough but if you have your heart set on a silver screw version if might be a bit harder....

there is another thread going over in the Ebay section about wrong information posted in a ebay ad for a CE-3,of course the is some people out there who are a bit dishonest and will 'gild the lily' to try and sell something that doesn't quite match the product but a lot of this is as well i think, from people not realizing that certain versions are more sought after the others and/or not knowing enough about what they are selling or bothering to find out...

sorry, I said yes... Anyway, your situation was clearly special and we didn't see the ad in ebay, so we couldn't judge properly.
