Back in the mid-90s my brother borrowed a Boss pedal from his buddy that would sustain a note when you held it down. Based on my memory of the color I'm thinking it was a DM Analog Delay. Do either of those models sustain the current note when the footswitch is depressed? Is there another Boss pedal that does this?
I know the DD pedals have a hold function, but that's more of an infinite repeat IIRC. |

Welcome to the forum!
Are you sure that the colour was kind of red? Couldn't it have been a DF-2 "SUPER Feedbacker & Distortion"? It creates a feedback like tone that you can hold endlessly while keeping the footswitch pressed. This pedal is orange. |

| Hey thanks, Pepe. I checked out the specs here and some Youtube videos. It must have been orange! The DF-2 was a seriously fun pedal. I remember messing with that thing for hours on end. |

Radioheading, did you actually read the bossarea overviews of the compact pedals?
The processed "feedback" sound of the DF-2 is (I suppose) a triangle shaped waveform produced by a simple oscillator. It's a little and simple synthesizer if you want it that way! You can mix a feedback tone in the same pitch as your instrument tone with a "second one" which is an octave above it. Quotation marks here, because the single oscillator will surely work via the divide-down method and the lower octave feedback sound is a product of the higher one, just frequency divided... Well, basic synthesizer and organ technics you all won't really need and didn't want to know, I'm sure! |

+1 The Boss book is fantastic. It's a little out of date and doesn't have some of the newer models, but it's chock full of interesting info. Every Boss enthusiast should have a copy! |

Look what you guys made me do, I just bought a Super Feedbacker Distortion on Ebay. I was aware of this pedal, but not of its cool trickery or its synth architecture..Jeez, hanging out here could get expensive!
Do I have to buy a third BCB-60 now?

No.
You have to put an extension on your house or build in part of your basement... |
