Bought a DM-2 off of craigslist and owner had a replaced a pot incorrectly. I fixed everything except for this one problem:
If I physically nudge either of the wires coming from the "repeat rate" pot, it seems to void the pot and go to a default long repeat. The "repeat rate" pot doesn't do anything in its rotation when this happens. then if I nudge the wires again, it'll work like it should.
I've checked my connections and resoldered them over and over. I'm not quite sure why it's doing this.. Does anybody know why? It's particularly annoying because when I have it working outside the box, it'll suddenly stop working like it should or vice versa.
As a side note, I accidentally filled one of the tab holes on the pot with solder, if that might have anything to do with it.
However, connection point 13 is empty as that is how I received the pedal. Any DM-2 owners know where the wire from 13 is supposed to go? And maybe making that connection will fix it?
#13 is the shield for the wires going to the repeat rate pot. These wires are "shielded one end" - a Faraday shield to stop RF interference inside the pedal.
