Looks pink to me. It also has a silver screw. Pretty cool. |

I've got a MIJ BF-2 that also has a silver screw and the same batch number (and also has a 2-hole battery compartment), but mine is purple (albeit not quite as dark as my MIT BF-2). I'll check my BF-2 under non-fluorescent lights when I get home, but that eBay one does look quite pink to me.
(and bossarea, I'm sorry you didn't win that auction....) |

I tried to snipe it it but my bid wasn't high enough
I don't know where the BF-2 numbering starts. We know it may roll over from 9900 to 0000 but the BF-2 is the only pedal I know about that has 5 digit ink stamped serial numbers. Did it start low and roll over to 10000? I have a purple silver screw BF-2 with serial 9700. It's hard to say if it is earlier or later than the one in the auction. |

that's a good point about batch numbers rolling over like that... one would think that such a thing wouldn't happen with the BF-2, given the other changes associated with its first year, but a SN of 0300 on two different BF-2's could reflect two different batches (and production dates) entirely....
bossarea, I just e-mailed you a scan of several of my pink or purple Boss pedals (MIJ DC-3, MIJ HF-2, MIT BF-2, and the MIJ BF-2 mentioned previously; my BF-3 is the same shade of purple as my MIT BF-2). my MIJ BF-2 is indeed a slightly lighter shade of purple, but it's not nearly as light as the HF-2 or the truly pink DC-3. feel free to use this image or not in any way shape or form if you like. |

The wood grain underneath the pedal looks pink as well, so it's likely just the picture that is off color.
Grace and peace,
Steve

pawnshop, thanks for the picture. It's an orgie of pink and purple I was wondering if the pink colour was just an artefact of camera, lighting and surroundings. There aren't any other objects in the picture that can be used for references so it's hard to say. |

| It will be interesting to see who will be the first forum member to be able to buy a pink BF-2. Ill be keeping my eyes peeled to find one for sure... |

| I had an MIT BF-2 and it was a little lighter than the MIJ BF-2 I now own. |

In a couple of days Im going to get a metalscrew BF-2, on the picture it looks much lighter than my current MIT BF-2. I will report when I get it. From what Ive seen the earlier BF-2s was much lighter purple.

| My silver screw BF-2 is quite dark purple. I don't have a newer pedal to compare with but compared to pictures it looks like the same colour. |

| When I get the old BF-2 I will take a close look, if anything strange colour-wise shows up Ill try to take a picture of the silverscrew and the MIT together. |

Got my BF-2 silverscrew last week. It has a little, just a little, lighter purple shade than my 1992 MIT BF-2. This could be to the fact that most paints gets lighter with age. And its definitely not pink... |
