it all started yesterday when i moved my whole setup to the spare room. i plugged in my regular pedal line up and started jamming. i dig up my old Shin-ei Companion Fuzz/Wah from like 1975. Heres where it happens..
i should start by saying i made a big gear mistake of changing gear while leaving my amp on. (i didnt wanna get up)
so..i plug the link cable from the wah to my amp, then i went to plug a link from the wah to my ce3. before actually plugging it into the CE3, i accidentally touched the link cable against the outside of the ce3 output jack. Then it happened. I heard that song "Youre Beautiful" by James Blunt come through my amp. I guess i picked up a radio station somehow!?!? The funny part is i could wah the song. it was great. its never happened to me before or ive never heard of this happening to anyone else.
Anyone know what the hell happened?
ps. now i know how Nigel Tufnel felt on the airforce base
Haha, cool. Espcially that you could wah the song I one overheard a walkie talkie, police radio or similar through my Roland Jazz Chorus but it was only for a few seconds I never heard it again.
On an old Marshall Lead 20 I had (which recently died ) I used to pickup radio stations all the time when I was on the 2nd floor of the house (we lived on a mountain anyway) but yeah it always bothered me but I never thought of playing with it as input.
I used to live near a 100,000 watt radio tower. Every time I kicked on my wah, that inductor coil would pick it up at 94.1 FM! Also didn't help that I was using crappy cabling back then and the power in that house wasn't properly grounded. It really sucked having the amp lose a few decibels every time the heater or AC would kick on. It's a wonder none of my gear got fried.
