Hi Guys
I found this on EvilBay Aust.
Apparently it's a Non-Working DS-1 that's painted CE-3 blue
No Knobs - No Logo - Texta Labels

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Boss-DS-1-DS-1-Not-Working_W0QQitemZ220082050400QQihZ012QQcategoryZ41416QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I probably should have posted this into the worst looking pedals thread.

I might try to win this, so I can give it a decent home,
It's somewhere in Melbourne - although Melb. Is a very big place.

What do you guys think, should I try to win it, & look after it, for the rest of its life?

Regards Dr. Bob

I think you should get her up and running again and put it on your pedal board

I'm actually watching the SS PH-1 the guy has, but am hesitant because I know I've seen that picture before (PH-1 on a multi-level wooden board with various other pedals and writing on it). I'm suspicious that the guy got negative feedback and decided to create a whole new account. I'll see if he'll agree to a pickup.

Hi RRV-10
My Son just emailed him, & asked his location
He said he was in Sandringham.
I will be bidding on it.
I might strip it back like the pedal Basstyra has, I think it was Basstrya, that had the bare metal pedal.

I would probably use it as my primary DS-1, & put the others into storage for now.
I have a nice CE-3 type metallic blue spray, I use on some of my custom designed pedals.

It looks like it needs a good home.

Good luck with the PH-1
Ask him if you can call him, he might be obliging.

Regards Dr. Bob

It might be able to strip the outer layer of paint to reveal the original finish.
It's not likely to be in good shape but it would be cool if possible to restore it.

bossarea is right. i got a CE-2 about a year ago and it was covered in red paint. i broke out the nail polish remover (belonged to the wife of course...yes, that will do) and it took off the red paint and didnt touch the CE-2 baby blue. i guess the red was cheaper paint. its worth a shot Dr Bob

Hi Bossarea & Guys
If you look carefully, the top looks pretty scratched up, I think he may have, stripped off the outer orange paint before he re-sprayed it.

It looks like, he has also sprayed the bypass switch in the battery compartment.

It definitely has my name on it
from the fault description, I already have a suspicion about the cause of the fault.

Perhaps I should ask him if it STILL, actually contains the circuit board. ( Just joking now ).
