Just received my PQ-3B from a seller in France... very good condition in a near mint box.

BUT

The freakin @sshole seller packaged it for shipping by wrapping a plastic bag around the essentially mint Boss box. The box now has rounded corners and other damage from the trip through the postage. It went from a mint collectible box to just "ok" with one stupid choice.

I've asked the seller what they want to do about it. I won't take anything less than a refund to cover the cost of a new box and keep the pedal. Not sure how the seller will respond... This might be the first negative feedback I've ever had to leave.

Grrrrrrr....

Thanks for listening.

$40 (from France) thought is was expensive. Certainly enough to PAY FOR SOME FREAKIN PACKAGING.

Sorry. </rant>

I would be pissed too, and honestly: i am glad i did not win any of his auctions but i believe some other Bossarea members won auctions of him too. I while back i bought an OC-2 with box and the seller just put a label on top and threw some ductape around it which ofcourse ruined the box, i wasn't too happy about that either..

Hopefully you get a refund but i doubt that as the main thing sold was the pedal itself.

I think it was this auction:

Man that really sucks Laurie. PQ-3B boxes are few and far between too (mine came without a box). It's unlikely, but I hope you have success with your efforts to get a refund.

I had a similar experience with a Moog pedal I bought from the US. The Moog box was taped up and just sent with an address label on it. I don't really care about the box's condition it's just that the guy at my post office seemed overly interested in the fact I now owned an expensive guitar pedal (he was familiar with the brand)... I don't really want to advertise that I have loads of very expensive, small and easily stolen gear at my house (especially to someone who knows my address).

I think my postman is just generally interested (I don't think he actually wants to rob me), but now I worry everytime I have an expensive pedal on the way...

I feel your pain Laurie.

I've had a few pedals sent with box that have just been shoved in a satchel and inevitably the boxes suffer.

Even worse lately I've been collecting some old Game Boy and PC games in boxes and guaranteed if they are sent in a sachel they will arrive like a pancake. I now request those items to be shipped in a box, most sellers don't mind but occasionally you'll get the odd moan and groan.

I share a similar pain. I just bought a OD-2r with box. The ebay picture was a stock one and it arrived it arrived in a SD-1 box! I needed another SD-1 box anyway but now I have an OD-2r with out a box I might be looking to sell off.

I once bought a TR-2 with box - when it arrived it was sent in the TR-2 box and just wrapped up in tape - that couldn't be removed. Bummer

Sad story Laurie

I once got a NOS LM-2 but they used the box to cut the tape and as a table to write my address down. So the top of the box was sliced and my address was imprinted in the top as well

I'm beginning to understand why I got so many buyers sending me mesaages about packing their pedals. I *assumed* that proper packing was a given. Again, my expectations of others are too high....

Damn it - that really hacks me off when that happens

I feel for you Laurie and I hope it works out ok

It's a seller's responsibility to get goods from A to B in 'as advertised' condition and at $40 I think you have a right to expect better. If this has happened before it's about time this seller received negative feedback and lots of it - at least to to warn other potential buyers.

No response from the seller yet. Looking at the previous feedback (100% so far), it looks like I'm the first anglophone to have purchased from them, so maybe there is a translation problem.
