IT STILL HAS POWER (as the led still lights up whenever I engage the pedal) BUT IT DOESN"T SEEM TO HAVE ANY EFFECTS ANYMORE??? THE BYPASS AND THE EFFECTED SIGNAL IS THE SAME. WHEN I PLUG IT IN IT'LL SOUND AS A CHORUS SHOULD BE... THEN AFTER A SHORTWHILE OF PLAYING THERE"LL BE LOUD HUMMING AND STATIC NOISE... THEN CAPUT!!! NO MORE CHORUS SOUND??? JUST AS IF THE EFFECTS WERE BYPASSED??? PLEASE ANYBODY??? THANK'S IN ADVANCE... =(

First off, ease on the all caps posting. It hurts to read it.

It sounds like some part in your CE-5 stops working after it gets hot. You can use cooling spray to chill down the components one by one. If you spray a component and it starts working again, you know you hit the culprit.

You can also troubleshoot using the zen method: Components that fail after they heat up are usually semiconductors. Chances are that the faulty one is the biggest (and most expensive) component in there.

Sorry for the all caps thing... Btw, Could it be possible that the Clock driver MN 3101 or the BBD MN 3007 is the one needs replacing??? THe problem is... How would I know w/c one to replace? Or do I have to replace them both? The main problem is when it heats up it oscillates then some noisy static and humming sound then you will here in the background as I still play my guitar, The Chorus rate speeds up and then slows down randomly then as I wait for few more minutes then it suddenly dies... No more effected signal. The effects is engaged as the led light is still lit. Btw, Thanks sir for the info... It sure is helpful... Cool site sir. I've been wishing Boss would do create a website such as this one... But you've done it! More power to this Boss user site n also to you sir. Godbless.

Thanks for the kind words about the site. Plans are in place for a substantial expansion...

Your guess about the CE-5 is as good as mine. I think the cooling spray method is the best way to troubleshoot it. Something like Freezer or Freeze 75 from CRC should do the job.
