yeah here goes:
1. point your web browser at www.ebay.com 2. search for BOSS CS-1 3. bid well and have it sent to your house 4. unwrap the damn thing and start the transformation 6. attach the red nose and the wig 7. apply white make-up 8. put it on your pedal board
voila
you just built your own clown - optical compressor.

I think Mully is saying buy the orig not the clone.
Although why you have to dress up like a clown is beyond me.
Mully - shouldn't he dress up like a stormtrooper? |

Are you guys saying that the CS-1 was an optical compressor? If not, which "original" is B.Y.O.C cloning? Thanks

| The BYOC optical compressor is a clone of the DOD 280 optical compressor |

I got it
The CS-1 is a bit of a one-trick-pony and you either love it or hate it. Building a kit that you can tweak might be a better path?
I'm thinking about building an optical compressor too... One of our members (Jack) is a moderator over on the BYOC forum. I don't know if he is reading the threads here at the moment but if you see this Jack, your input would be much appreciated!

Got the joke! Sorry I was being so dense.
I didn't know that the CS-1 or DOD 280 were optical compressors. That's why I joined this forum, because I figured that I could learn some things from you guys.
I recdently sold my Demeter Compulator (optical compressor) and miss it already. I thought that this BYOC kit might be a less expensive way to replace it than buying another Demeter for $220.00. I'm just wondering if it's a decent compressor. |

Hey dudes...I am a mod over at the BYOC forum, but unfortunately, I am not familiar with any of their compressors...I will invite you though to check out the BYOC forum: http://www.buildyourownclone.com/board/ Probably one of the friendliest forums, other than BossArea of course, and there are sub-forums for Questions about BYOC products and each individual kit offered by BYOC. I recommend any BYOC kit as the circuits and parts are all top notch, and the circuit designs are thoroughly tested before being mass produced as I was privileged enough to be a beta-tester for their Leeds Fuzz (superfuzz clone)...
