Hello all
don't know how the rest of you are faring out but Ireland is submerging fast.... ...and i thought my next woodwook project would be a a mulitholder guitar case.... so it's either build an ark or do what Gilmour out of th floyd did and get a houseboat and put my gear in it.... .... |

Hi mate,
We've got two new 'lakes' appearing in the valley near me - happy as long as they stay there! My guitars are going upstairs.
Think you've copped what the Lake District is getting - really bad flooding there - gotta feel it for those folks... |

Yeah its probably the weight of that wet/dry/wet rig you just built-
I can actually hear it over here in the UK some nights when the wind is blowing from the west, no wonder its dragging your nation underwater..... |

...as long as the 'dry' bit stays dry... i'm not too bad, were up on a hill well away from the nearest river,i've seen parts of the UK on the news... and our west coast and down south towards Cork are the same,a lot of it seems to have been caused by bad planning decisions(building houses on flood plains.. ) and by the people controlling the hydro-electricity dams having no option but to let extra water out of the lakes and down the rivers to stop the dams from collapsing, the rivers then overflowed, bursting their banks and caused massive damage and flooding......Dr Bob emailed me and told me the even Oz is getting a downpour and some nasty lightning.... ....gotta feel for the people who lost everything.. ..Dublin seems to escaped the worst of it this time, mainly because most of the power stations are in the countryside....... |

It's pretty hot and dry here in South Australia... If you could send us some of that water it would be much appreciated (we're running a little short of it at the moment).

Hi Franzoni & Guys
Here's my "Need an ARK" story from yesterday. I PM'ed it to a few of the older guys.
Then I saw your Build an Ark post this morning. I'm not sure if the other guys will be interested? But here goes anyway.
-- Cut & paste from the PM I sent -- Man did it pour today in the late afternoon.
The local Mall (Fountain Gate Shopping Centre) was struck by a big lightning bolt, maybe more. Took out 9 of the 10 Village Cinema's - they got really Flooded. And the roof of the adjacent bank collapsed in. The entire centre was evacuated - creating a heap of traffic chaos, in the surrounding districts.
Power Brown-outs & total outages in many areas's
We had 20+mm to 30+mm of rain in 10-25 mins. most of it in one big flash down pour.
Lots of storm damage everywhere. - Live radar of the storms was off the RED-to Violet color end, of the severity scale.
I myself, had to drag two storm drain pit lids off the road at the end of the the T-intersection near my home, so much water came off the hill about 300m away, that it popped the storm drain pit lids & washed them onto the middle of the roadway. Bloody heavy, & very dirty for someone dressed in business clothing. :-)
Just as I cleared the road, a couple of motorbike riders came flying around the corner. They could have been seriously hurt if they hit the pit lids, they are very Big & Heavy, & about 50-60mm thick (maybe thicker).
Collin my mate had a flood in his shop at Berwick about 10-15 mins away. The flat roof couldn't cope with all the rain, as well as water rushing of the pavement in through the back door.
Lots of damage to some homes, like mini tornadoes hit some local areas. And a whole street in Country Shepparton (3-4 hours drive away), was destroyed by what locals called a mini tornado as well.
At least the pedal collection is still safe & warm. :-)
Regards Dr. Bob |

Yes, and always remember my friend:
I am successful. I am powerful. I am handsome. I am happy.
Successful, powerful, handsome, happy.
And have a few of these while you're at it |

No offense intended Tony.

Let's not forget the SP-1's, SG-1's and VB-2's mate - it's the only chance I'll ever have of getting hold of one
Not sure what's happening where you are now but it's still hacking it down here (not with the ferocity that Dr. Bob had - man that sounded rough ) and getting soggier by the minute - wish we could share some of this around the world with the guys that really need it... |
