i couldnt make it past the second page of that thread (HC)..seems like if some of them over there (HC) spent more time actually talking about stuff the threads are supposed to cover rather than posting their library of .gifs and .jpegs and degrading everybody, it MIGHT be a decent place to visit...but on the other hand, i joined here and feel very welcome and at ease and dont hear a weeks worth of someone telling someone else how shitty their equipment is, etc..
i like it here because there are people here that will and do help a brother out (if needed) and i enjoy every minute i am here, and i am here frequently..i spend time here every day, there is always something new here to learn every day whether i post or not.
just my two cents worth on how i feel about this site

| With almost a year here I'm nothing more than a newbie, but I didn't like the way the name 'bossarea' was treated over there. I don't even like it being mentioned over there, if you ask me. |

I completely agree with you, kelmaur.Just like Mansun, I'm almost a year here. In that year nobody ever treated me without respect for any of my opinions or choices of gear. Forums exist to find souls with the interests that you have, not to discriminate anyone who has asked a "stupid question" or has a low posting count. Just like said before, BossArea is simply the best forum on the web. I'm really glad I found this place, and I enjoy every single post here. Here's to you, bossarea, for making this great forum!

Really, I like this place! I directly felt at home. I only know one other music forum that can be compared with the bossarea concerning fairness and knowledge: sequencer.de, a German - no! THE German synthesizer forum. But they don't know a tenth about compact pedals there!  |

i like it also for the fact that we are from different places around the world and are talking to each other like we are family
havent once seen anything in reference to "why cant we just get along"...because it just isnt like that here...
we ALL do get along....i like that...doesnt matter WHERE YOUR FROM
i like it because i draw for others experiences and it helps me learn things i might otherwise not have learned from anywhere
helping your fellow brother is what it s all about
now if we could just get that through everyones head around the world it just might be a great place to socialize and fell great about your self as well as each other without worrying about anything

| You 2 guys shouldn't be embaressed, I'm not. I've done far worse in the drunken stuper I was in, and woke up behind bars. The only regret I have is mentioning this site. I did so in my 1st post only to say we had a similar thread over here. So I woke up with a headache, banned from HC for life. Beats calling up a friend trying to make bail! |

Ya take the good with the bad. I only go to HC for their reviews, but now they seem to be biased.
WAY TO GO PEDAL DAN! I read the thread, and although you did "stoop" to their level on a few things, I was cheering you on! They sounded like a bunch of "baby teenagers" who try to see how much profanity they could spew out in their short replies.
I know I WON'T be going there for advice.

Way ta go Zerks, this topic's been beaten worse than that dead horse over at that other place! I to love Fenders, and Fender related... the new issue of GW has a cool story about Charvel guitars. Pretty interesting, and they are now built at the Fender custom shop. Hence the Strat headstock! |

Here's a rundown of typical stuff on HC....
You ask a question about a guitar, they tell you your influences suck.
You ask a question about an amp, they suggest you change your pickups.
You ask a question about pickups, they say you should try a different brand of strings.
And of course, the best answers of all on the HC forums are the ones where they pretty much state that they have no experience or clue about what you are asking about, but they use this brand because its the best, and you should use it too, otherwise you suck. |
