Hey...I've got an old school DOD FX80-B compressor sustainer and I think I'm ready for a change. It's does the job ok, but it's extremely loud and its so old it doesn't have the daisy chain AC adapter so I have to use a battery. What is your recommendations for a compressor sustainer? CS-2, CS-3, or something non boss? Thanks for the help.
I can recommend the RCL-10 halfrack compressor. The microrack series were pretty much studio quality, plus on this one you can set up your own attack and release times, and it doubles as a really good noise gate. Put it in the loop of your amp and use a latching footswitch for remote control. Or do like me: put it in the loop and never switch it off again.
Hey that sounds good...I need a noise gate as well. How much do these run? I never turn off my DOD compressor right now either...it just beefs up the sound so much and keeps everything consistent...makes my life a lot easier...I'm one of those singing lead guitar players so I don't have time to be tweaking and managing my pedals and sound constantly. Thanks for the suggestion!
I guess my question would be, is the noise gate on it as good as the NS-2 or better? and does the compressor compare with the CS-2 or 3? If its a yet then I'll for sure get one...it'd be about the same price as buying the 2 pedals individually...I wouldn't turn either of them off so I don't need stomp box...and external remotes are expensive so sound good to me...thanks again!
