So was on CL this morning and I clicked on an ad that had "pedals and pickups" as a title, and there it was "Boss DS-1 Distortion, very used-$15.00" I looked at the picture, thought little of it and moved on. Then something occurred to me after I had left the ad(Boss sense tingling?) I went back to the add for a second look. Here is the actual image. Do you see what I saw?

Yes, that is a silver screw. I emailed him my number thinking it was possible. Got a call this evening, he said well it works fine but has two problems. One of the knobs is chipped pretty bad as you can see in the picture, and the other is when you step on it, the led only comes on for a second.
An hour later I picked up a silver screw, black label, made in Japan, momentary led, serial #8600, DS-1 for....
wait for it...
almost...
$10 .

hahaha you rock!
I was going to call you 'lucky bastard' but what you did doesn't have anything to do with luck at all.
Can it be easily fixed? |

I keep telling you guys old pedals aren't worth shit. One'd be stupid to cash out 150 + for some old crap like that.
Seriously, nice find, awesome score Pedalhead. |

Other than the knob, it is not broken. The momentary led is a sign of it being part of the first series of Boss pedals if I rember correctly? I will post some pics later. |

Wicked score. That's the kind of deal I'm always hoping for!! my best was $40 for a very clean LD DS-1. I still need an SS.. SS & momentary would be fab.. |

Yeah, yeah, I didn't mean the momentary led, I know that's the way they did their pedals in the very beginning; I was talking about the knob itself. Does it have a screw or something you can easyly access? |

| Well done. It's a great feeling when you get a champagne pedal at a lemonade price! Congratulations! |

Looks good, nice grab!
The knob is an easy replacement. Play the hell out of it! |
