http://cgi.ebay.es/80s-BOSS-CE-3-Stereo-CHORUS-pedal-vintage-MIJ-deal-READ_W0QQitemZ220504814339QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar_Accessories?hash=item33571c7303

I'm looking for a BOSS chorus but I don't know if I'll be able to restore the screw. This one seems ok for someone with the skills.

im a machinst..it wouldnt be that hard to fix..cant see a pic of the slot wher the screw screws into to tell what need sto be done to it..but what im thinking is , is that the rubber gromet is missing and/or something is wrong with the slot itself(disfigured)

you could re-tap the threads on the hole, but likely will need to go larger and replace with a non-standard screw.

this seller charges way too much money for his broken pedal ... just look at the infamous posting by Laurie on the $99 HM-2.

Well, I don't think you can compare both!

At least this one has all its knobs in its place and the only thing is the screw... The HM-2 could be sold if the seller changes his mind and start with a 0,01 bid, selling it for parts.

Where the thread in the pedal top is stripped, it is possible to use a thing call a "riv-nut" (or sometimes "nut-sert"). I haven't ever tried to find one that is the 3mm size of the Boss thread, but it should be available. NOT cheap though!

Hey kelmaur... do you reckon you could make some "silver screws"? I'd buy a couple...

No... I have a couple of SS pedals that need new screws. One is rusted, the other damaged.

I wonder if my friend who owns his own guitar shop in Japan would have these metal screws available. He's got tons of stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if he did have these. I can ask him the next time I write to him....he's not on the net, so I have to write and send it snail mail. That's sort of good though because when your accessed on line, people from all corners of the planet will buy up your old stock in no time flat.

Screw the screws... does he have any old non-working pedals that need a good home

I can find out, but it will take a little time since he's only on snail mail. I'll post on here what I find out from him. It's too bad because I was just there at his shop a few months ago talking with him during my recent trip to Japan. I didn't ask him about any of his old stock since I'm not really into the market to be buying up any of this stuff. But I will ask him now and let you know.
