| i was late to this discussion as well, having just discovered this great forum (sorry for the blatant flattery attempt to make a good impression). I'm looking for more info on the Boss Rocker Distortion PD-1 pedal, which semms to provoke strong feelings, good or bad among users. it has the famous JRC4558 chip, along with the TC4011 used in the flangers, phasers and chorus pedals from the 1970's and 80's. great components but a somewhat counter-intuitive design. Boss freak, if you could email me that link it would be greatly appreciated. I am (like most here it seems) an addict of all things Boss and Roland, as well as the periphery and clone companies, (i.e. Ace Tone, Amdek, Multivox, firstman, hillwood. etc..) so many multivox products seem to be direct knockoffs of Boss or Roland products (Sound on Sound id a great piece on the Roland-Multivox stories, specifically the RS-202 and MX-202 string synths, i was wondering if anyone has found similarities between the Multivox Big Jam pedals and Boss pedals. |

I'm not sure the Big Jam pedals are clones of Boss pedals, but I have a Big Jam BiPhase on the way, so will be able to report how similar it sounds to the PH-1R. According to the seller it sounds more like a Mutron Phaser II than a PH-1R, which is interesting as the Big Jam Spit Wah seems to be a clone of the Mutron III (or else of an Ibanez AF201 which is a Mutron clone anyway). The BigJam series seem to have little unique features on their pedals (as well as the unique look) that make me think they may be independent Japanese circuits, as opposed to the infamous Guyatone/Nady/Locobox, Korg/Yamaha rebranding that occurred at the time.

Yes, me too please. I'm looking for LS-2 & all others not easily found on the regular few sites I have links for. I haven't had much luck getting any response when I asked for schematics in other threads.
Anyway, thanks.. it sure would be good to nab a couple I really need to see for the pedals I own. |

I'm probably willin' to trade though When I get a wild hair & get into a new hobby, I usually jump in with both feet & create some reference docs. Although I've been playing for 5 years, I've just recently got back into playing & now that I have some green for toys.. I've started a folder with a few docs, xls, & pdfs to share. |
