| which Boss volume pedal should one use in an amp's effects loop? I'm guessing you'd want to use a low-impedance model like the FV-500L in an effects loop, since the high-impedance models are designed to be the first pedal in a chain and connected directly to the guitar or bass. but if anyone has any comments regarding which model is best (FV-500L vs. FV-300L vs. FV-50L, etc.), that would be great. thanks! |

Yea, "generally" it should be the "L". Your amp should be OK with an "L" but you won't know for sure until you try.
Stay from the 50 - it is built-down-to-a-price and behaves like it. The 300 should be OK, but the 500 is the best.

I have an old FV300H.
I've use it with guitar straight in, in an effects loop, as an expression pedal, with keyboards, etc... Never had any problems. Oh, and its sold medal (apart from the volume knob and the rubber feet).
I did have both FV50H and FV50L, but promptly sold them. They are plastic, and the the volume curve was not smooth as everything comes in way too quickly... I even struggled a bit controlling volume swells with them.
I'm sticking with my 300 series.
Not tried the newer FV500 series though. |
