The DD-7 was the most recent pedal that Boss put out wasn't it? So why very little else, especially with older models still in the '2' phase?

Personally, I'd love to see...

TR-3; with four controls ala EHX puslar or seymour duncan shape shifter.
Depth
Wave form (triangle to square),
Wave shape (rising-falling sawtooth/small-large width)
Rate

BD-3; not sure if it would need extra controls, but a slightly thicker, smoother sound, (addressing the problems in the other BD-2 threadS) would be perfect.

RV-20; two RV-5's in one, but with better spring reverb setting and reverse reverb.

The same issue has been talked about here

http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=61

But you are right though, why so many delays and not new models of other effects, a new model compressor would be nice, with a useable sustain control this time.

Come to think of it, all pedals should be free of tonesucking and other weirdo glitches, and suitable for bass-guitar as well.
I assume that after some 30+ years of manufacturing pedals they must have learned something about electronics

Personally I'd like to see the RE-20 in a compact pedal...but I'm not holding my breath; they'd have to remove some features I'm sure.
Of course, they could remove the "tap tempo" feature as far as I'm concerned since I don't use it. That might cut down on size needed.

Just daydreaming I guess...

heh...

i actually hope they stop making modulations.

BF-3, PH-3 = digital.
there should have been a CH-2 and CE-6 already as those are digital.

i don't see them going into new territory that outperforms what has already been done, which is a bummer, as i feel they never really got a few effects perfect in the analog domain.

i would have to go with tr-3, but i would add a volume knob to it, so many mods of this pedal include it, but the would probably add a tap tempo, which i hate

i would love to see some sort of pedal pre amp / DI, like the MXR M80 or sansamp bddi,
the De fretter from the multi effects as a stand alone compact,
an octave pedal that tracks well on bass, perhaps something like the micro pog,
and the proverbial talent booster / mistake filter of course!!!

I think Boss made a mistake by making the DD-6 without the external tap tempo option. A lot people complained about this and started bidding up prices on the old DD-5. They also had to compete against Eventide and TC Electronic's new delays. Delay pedals are probably a big cash cow for Boss and I don't think they want to risk losing market share here. So then we get the DD-7 while some other areas remain a little dated.

I agree. I think people are realizing the huge advantage that an external tap tempo can add to a pedal's abilities.

Zerksies - Luckly if you don't want to use an extrenal tap tempo is doesn't affect you to have the option.

And, not that I'd use one, but alot of people seem to be wanting a VB-3.

And what about a compact rotary speaker effect?

All together in the one analogue pedal...

I haven't had a chance to read through all 13 pages of that thread, but did anyone there mention a parallel compressor?

I mean with a "blend" knob which allows you to mix the compressed sound with the un-compressed sound to get the sustain while still preserving the pick attack?

Barber Tone Press and Guyatone ST2 already do this.

My commentary on this thread has been addressed in other threads, but...

I think the golden oldies that everyone is scrambling for need to be re-issued. NEW UPGRADED SG-1, VB-2, DC-2 & 3, SP-1...
I'd also like to see an updated analog delay, more time than DM-2 or 3 and with some if not all the options of the DD-7. Dunno if it's possible, don't care what it would take to get it done. Maybe with the option of analog & digital. SHOULD BE DONE. THAT would be a killer dual-sized pedal. I'd gladly blow the dough for the beast.

I'd like to see a really slick compressor/limiter that gives a compressed signal without sounding quashed ... add some glass to it too.

GL-2, and only two controls, hammered metal dark green case.

Everyone would like to see the older Boss pedals reissued. Not likely or at best they would be COSM models.

an overdrive with bass and treble controls or with bass mid and treble controls would be the ultimate overdrive IMO.
