Got a mail from south africa asking me about bank accounts and sh*t, didn't read the mail 'cause it's all the same blabla.
But they used bossarea to send me this mail. I allready send a copy to Dr.Bob .

edit: it was not south africa but west africa, my mistake, but as I said I don't read spam.

Hi Guys
I'm getting Bossarea admin to deal with this new spammer. It looks like they have registered, so they can email members
Please DON'T reply to any emails, else they will have your return address/s.. They don't have your email accounts - unless you are foolish or angry enough to respond.
If you use the Mail App. on a Mac just use menu item "Bounce" under the Message menu. Some other mail clients have a similar feature, I'm sure DeFrag knows about it.
Thanks to everyone who sent me a heads up.
Regards Dr. Bob - Moderator

Yeah I also got a mail via the forum, from women I had to contact... "Please, it's urgent" and that kinda talk. I hate those spam mails... |

Thanks everyone. The spammer has been disabled.
Hmmm, maybe I should start my automailer and send 1000000 e-mail replies to Helena.... |

| Ditto here. Has anyone contacted the authorities? Like they would do anything in the first place. Don't know if they could trace it or not. |

Those spammers usually do it from cybercafes in africa, contact the authorities is unfortunately useless |

The worst thing is that if I mailbombed the account it could be interpreted as a denial of service attach against Yahoo (who is hosting the spammer's mailbox). Yahoo could then take actions against me and in my country DOS attacks are illeagal so worst case scenario, I could end up in court.
Sadly, the spammers can do what they want and everyone else will have to follow the rules.

I got the same too.
Is there anyone who actually falls for this? I'd really want to meet them and give 'em a good slap. |
