I've been toying around with this thing for hours and it is extremly difficult to use. It's hard to figure out, let alone do a loop that's on time. Anyone else have the same problem? |

Well, Jill, first you have to pat yourself on the back for being the first to own this of anyone in the forum.
As with any looper, you should spend some time reading the manual before ever plugging it in. Also, get an external footswitch for it. I think you need a FS-5U. That will make it easier to stop/start/overdub or whatever.
There's about 5 other threads on this pedal elsewhere in this forum. Just do a search for RC-2 and you'll find a couple of videos showing you how it's done. Have fun! |

Pat on the back executed. I purchased the pedal for at a local music store on tuesday. It was the first and only one they got.
I pretty much decided on getting a FS-5U foot switch to try out with it. I hate to sound like an ass because I love Boss, I have a feeling this pedal may dissapoint alot of people. Maybe a looper isn't what I need after all. |

Well done getting hold of one. I don't think anyone here is able to help out with the usage yet but you may be able to help us out when we get ours later on. |

| Jill, I'm sure you have already heard of the RC-20XL. But if you haven't yet heard of it, you should check it out. It is about the same price as the RC-2 (maybe like $50 more or something). It is a double pedal rather then a compact pedal. Personally, I think that for a looping pedal, it is necessary to have 2 pedals rather then just one. It is much more easy to use - the left is record/play/overdub, and the right is stop/erase. Very simple, and also the best pedal I ever bought. If you want to become a good lead guitar player, The RC-20xl loop station is a necessity in my opinion. I know a lot of people don't like the twin pedals, but I think this pedal is an exception from the rest. |

Hi Jill You know if you don't like the pedal I'll bet you could ebay it and you would probably make your money back on it since NO ONE ELSE seems to have it!!! You did well to get one so quickly!

I think the pedal is easy enough. One just needs to read through the manual a couple times & play with it a bit. I think quantize only works if you manually set the tempo first so timing can be a bit sensitive if you don't.
I just had a thought; what if BOSS "split" the pedal down the middle where you stomp on it? It would be like a twin-pedal design with two switches to stomp on. Sure they would have to retool but with as stable as the compacts are, I think we all could stand extra switching capability & tilting our foot just a bit to hit the left or right switch. |

That is a great idea, enter the PH-3, DD-6, AW-3 and all the other pedals taht use some tapping of some sort. |

What's the deal with Roland/BOSS.. don't they know that we want to download the PDF manual for this pedal!?
Isn't it enough we give them our money? Who has a connection? |
