Wo Hooooo, seems that some folks feel their pricy DM-2 needs a pricey house to live in to prevent it from getting a cold

That's the same price I paid for my DM-2. The box is now worth as much as the pedal
He started of the auction at a tenner. I was sure he wasn't going to receive a single bid on it. Seems I was way wrong.

This is unfortunately what happens whenever something becomes "collectible". What you're going to see happen now are people separating the more rare/desirable pedals from their boxes and auctioning them all separately, because collectors simply won't say no. Or the prices for the ones still with boxes will inflate that much further.

There's a lot of mystique out there surrounding analog delay versus digital -- from what I read in my travels in musician's forums, a lot of it seems to be driven primarily by David Gilmour tone fanatics, which is ironic when you consider that he's using a Pete Cornish modified DD-2 now.

C.K. (who is perfectly happy with his pair of DD-2s, btw)
