| Over at the HCFX forum they are doing a pedal board contest. One of the categories is for a vintage board. I was thinking about putting together a board with only vintage Boss pedals. Which pedals should I include in such a board? It should be something that someone would realistically use, not just one long chain of every vintage Boss pedal I own. Any suggestions? I have most of the compact Boss pedals. |

RV-2 DD-2 CE-2 or DC-2, DC-3 DS-1
Apart from the DS-1 which might not qualify as being a vintage pedal(except if you use the SS-version ), these pedals form the backbone in my sound and can handle every situation. |

There is no limit on the number of pedals but I would like to keep it under 10. I was thinking something like: CS-2 -> SP-1 -> FT-2 -> OC-2 -> FZ-2 -> OD-1 -> VB-2 -> DM-2 -> DC-2. I prefer the sound of the FT-2 over the TW-1. The SP-1 kind of has a wah like effect so I may keep just that or the FT-2. The OC-2, FZ-2, and OD-1 can do a lot of overdrive and fuzz sounds. Then the rest are for modulation and delay.

Vintage = 25 years or older (collectible cars anyways), so until Dec 31, pedals would need to be older than 1981. Indisputably, I would stick with SS pedals DS1, PH1r, CE2, DM2. Nice and simple. (TW1 would be a nice to throw in too). |
