I have a couple of the Raytheon chips which came out of my PH-1 (which is a lot quieter thanks to the TL074s and metal film caps) and I was thinking maybe I could build an OD-1 clone. My question is, which is the one that people make all the fuss about? Is it the 3403 one? It seems that they all go for a fair bit on eBay but from what I can tell there are a lot of differences. The schematics for the 3403 versions look so simple and that's what attracts me, less in the way of the tone and it looks like all the amping is done by the 3403 with nothing else in circuit. Any advice for a would be builder?
DIY OD-1 which one?
