For me it is the DD-5. Absolute workhorse. No wonder, it was the standard for so long. Had it modded by stinkfoot to have the treble roll-off mod, so now it super-cool! DD-5 all the way!

I really dig my DD-7. Boss has never made a bad Digital Delay in my opinion.

Only digi delay I own is a DD-7. Absolute work-horse. There is nothing I need that it doesn't do well.

I use two DD'3s in my setup..... they have always been 100%.. it depends what you need from a delay...i use the newest of them for multitaps and long echoes as it's a bit 'cleaner' sounding to my ears..the other one i bought new in around 95/96 sounds a bit more 'analog' to me so i use that for short delays and rockabilly slapback...i have setting the times down with my eye on a gig but i could see how the tap tempo feature on the later models could appeal to some.....but i think the sound quality of the DD-3 is hard to beat...a lot of pro's use them live and more sophisticated ones in the studio..... |

I sold off my DD-5 and got a DD-7 a couple months. It's my favorite DD so far.

I have DD-5 & DD-6. I have played with & will get a DD-7. DD-7 would be the ONE I would get if I could ONLY HAVE ONE, but I'm a whore for pedals.

Hmmm all this talk about the DD7, you make me curious guys!!
I have a DD2, DD5 and DD6. I really like them all, as for the quality of the delaysound itself, all of them are kind of equal I would say, they vary in the specific functions and details.
I like the DD2 for its straighforwardness. The delaylength is probably long enough for what most players will ever need.
The DD5 is great for that reverse sound, and you can still play with the time-knob to change the pitch, just as on any anolgue delay. Not many digital delays will do that trick.
Like the DD6 for its simple looping function. I use two of them at the same time, and with both of them I can give people the idea that I have a whole backing band behind me complete with drumbeats, repeating riffs and basslines. Cool One downer on the DD6: When you play your loops for about 15 minutes or longer the quality of the sound degrades a lot. We have posted about this before, and most DD6 users seem to have that problem.

yeh defs, delays are best in pairs. i have a 3 and a 5 which work ace together. the 6 is obviously the worst of the bunch (for its retarded in built tap tempo).

/agree with visser that the sound quality is relatively equal on the digi delays.
with that being said and DD-7's costing as much as DM-3's when it comes to digi delays i look at price unless there's specific functions desired.
i just replaced my analog delays with DD-3's because they are the cheapest.
