Hi all. This is my first post and I only recently started chasing vintage stuff to develop our bands sound. I'm not a collector or gear freak, but no offence to those who are! The point being I'm not clued up so I kind of feel like I'm throwing myself to the dogs!!!

Go easy on me

First I'm swapping DM3 for a DM2-B. Am I better off holding out for a DM2 with the 3005 chip, or is the difference negligible? Please bear in mind I need the self oscillation as I've already written it into a song on my DM3.

Next question: I'm struggling to find the old aca adaptor and they piss through batteries, as does my old dunlop fuzz - what can i do?

I'm after a CS2 Compressor also and it has the same power req' so i'm going to double skrewed.

As some background I've got a Nobels analog phaser and vox wah that both run fine off my 9v ac > dc power bank.

Can anyone suggest a good robust fix to my power issues?

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

Welcome to the forum....

If you use your old ACA pedals with a normal daisy chained PSA, and a newer PSA pedal in the chain, then they will work fine. There's a few topics on here about it.

As for your other questions, I'll leave them to the experts...

Hi stevengeorge
Welcome to the forum from Australia.

One of the answers to your ACA question is on this page.
Which covers powering ACA pedals from a PSA adapter or 9VDC power source.
http://www.bossarea.com/other/aca.asp

Which 9V power bank do you currently have powering your other pedals,
and how much current can it supply?

If you are handy/skilled with a soldering iron,
& are used to working on medium sized PCB's,
it's possible to easily mod your ACA pedals to run permanently off regulated 9VDC.

Regards Dr. Bob

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't seem to have a make. Just says POWER BANK DC-9.

It has 5 outputs, of which I am currently running 1 to a new vox wah and 1 to a nobels PH-D phaser.

The POWERBANK has 450mA current capability.

The nobels works fine and on the back states: use ac adaptor which delivers regulated 9 volts dc. Polarity required is pos external and neg internal.

The nobels works fine and I inherited it with the POWER BANK and they work fine together as does the vox wah.

I dont want to plug this into the dm3 (without a green light from somebody clued up) and blow it as something that old (the dm3) i guess wont have circuit protection.

green light?
