It doesn't sound right at all. I don't have a PH-2 so I can't say if it's a peculiarity with that model but I seriously doubt it.

Does it behave the same with battery and external 9V? I am thinking it purhaps it's a faulty power supply that gives 9V pulses rather than pure DC?

I use a visual sound onespot power adapter, with a five spot daisy chain. it's cheaper than buying an ns-2 and the boss daisy chain.

If the PH-2 is the only pedal that shows this behaviour, the power supply is probably fine. It might be worth slipping a battery in anyway just for testing.
It does however sound like there is something wrong with it.

I figured it all out. If you are using Visual Sound one spot adapters with the daisy chain, and you are trying to power ACA pedals it has to have atleast one PSA style pedal in the chain or it won't power them properly. That's why my PH-2's light was pulsing with the rate. just a little info just in case anyone else is using One Spot adapters in their setup.

yeah, that's right. the same with boss ACA adaptors, it tend to flactuate when using it on PSA pedals alone.

Is it just me or does the price of PH-2's seem to be going up in the used market?

Yes, the prices have increased about 50% in the last year or so. I need to replace my broken one soon!
